Mezilesí

Mezilesí ( German Metzles ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located five kilometers east of Nove Mesto nad Metují and belongs to Okres Náchod.

Geography

Mezilesí is on the left above the valley of the river Olešenka in the northwestern foothills of the Eagle Mountains. East of the village, on the opposite side of the valley are located on a rocky spur, the remains of the castle Frymburk.

Neighboring towns are Krahulčí in the northeast, Doly and Novy Hradek in the east, and Bydlo Tis the southeast, and Bohdašín Slavoňov in the south, Blažkov in the southwest, and Libchyně Jestřebí in the west and Sendraž in the northwest.

History

The first mention of Mezilesí took place on August 30, 1403 during the construction of a memorial altar for Beneš Silný of Dubé in Náchod Laurentius Church. Originally belonging to the reign Krcin village came in the 15th century largely to the reign Náchod. Only two farms remained at Krcin and went at the beginning of the 16th century to the new rule Nove Mesto nad Metují over. The Berni rula has a total of 17 properties for Mezilesí. In the 18th century the weaving house held as extra income to the less productive agricultural catchment. Mezilesí was formerly gepfarrt by Novy Hradek, and the school was in Slavoňov. At the beginning of the 19th century took place after Umpfarrung Slavoňov. Opened in 1864 Mezilesí own school. 1869 550 people lived in the village. In 1879 a great fire destroyed parts of the village.

  • Marian pilgrimage church Rokole, southeast of the village on the Olešenka. 1930 consecrated church replaced a wooden chapel from 1859. Continue is the pilgrimage to the Apostles Chapel Betlem of the Schoenstatt Movement. The stone Stations of the Cross of the Valley of Olešenka was created in 1874.
