Michael Ferrante ( born April 28, 1981 in Melbourne) is an Australian football player who is currently without a club and most recently was in New Zealand at Wellington Phoenix under contract.

Career

Ferrante attended the Australian Institute of Sport before he made ​​the jump to Europe and played in the youth academy of English club West Ham United between 1997 and 1998. In 1999, he won with the youth team West Ham's FA Youth Cup with a 9-0 success after return game against Coventry City. Ferrante led it in a lot to the team by players like Joe Cole and Michael Carrick as captain. After not getting into the first team at West Ham until 2001, he left England and played for some time in the lower Italian leagues in Comprens Stabia and Benevento Calcio.
