Michael Funk

Michael " Mike" Funk ( born August 15, 1986 in Abbotsford, British Columbia) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player standing since 2009 with the Vancouver Canucks of the National Hockey League contract.

Career

Michael began his radio career as a hockey player with the Portland Winter Hawks, for which he was active from 2002 to 2006 in the Western Hockey League. During this time he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2004 in the second round than a total of 43 players from the Buffalo Sabres.

For the Sabres, he was in the 2006/07 season his debut in the National Hockey League. This season, the defender played a total of five games in the NHL for Buffalo, in which were two templates. In the 2007 /08 season the links Sagittarius stood another four times for Buffalo in the NHL on the ice. The majority of his first two years in the franchise of the Buffalo Sabres, however, spent radio in their former farm team of the American Hockey League, the Rochester Americans. For the new AHL farm team the Sabres, the Portland Pirates, denied the Canadians in the 2008 /09 season only 13 games before he was hired by the Vancouver Canucks on July 6, 2009.

Internationally

For Canada radio took part in the U18 World Youth Championship 2004, where he finished fourth with his team.
