Michael Schmaus

Michael Schmaus ( born July 17, 1897 in Oberbaar, Bavaria, † 8 December 1993 in Gauting, Upper Bavaria ) was a German Roman Catholic theologian and dogmatists.

Life

Michael Schmaus After leaving school in Rosenheim Catholic theology in Munich and received his PhD in 1924 at Martin grave man. In 1922 he was ordained a priest.

After teaching at the Faculty of Philosophy and Theology of Freising, at the local seminary and at the University of Munich, he was a professor of dogmatic theology at the German-speaking part of the Charles University in Prague (1928-1933) and from 1933 at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster.

From 1946 until his retirement in 1965, he was Professor of Catholic dogmatic theology at the Ludwig- Maximilians- University of Munich. His students included Joseph Ratzinger, the future Pope Benedict XVI. - With which he was associated with his postdoctoral thesis for Fundamental Theology " The understanding of revelation and theology of history Bonaventura " in Gottlieb Söhngen quarreled - Gerhard boss, Elisabeth Gössmann, Richard Heinzmann, Uta Ranke- Heinemann and Cardinal Scheffczyk.

Work
