Michał Żewłakow

Michał Żewłakow [m ʲ ixaw ʒɛvwakɔf ] ( born April 22, 1976 in Warsaw, Poland ) is a former Polish football player and most capped player in his country. His twin brother Marcin was also a professional footballer.

Club career

With the football game began at the Warsaw clubs Drukarz Warszawa (1987-1992) and Mary Mont Warszawa (1992-1993). At seventeen, he came in 1993 to Polonia Warszawa, for the capital club, he completed from 1995 to 1998 79 games ( four goals). In the 1995/96 season he was loaned for the first round of the unterklassigen club Hutnik Warszawa. After returning to the second round he was able to prevail and finally secured a regular place at Polonia.

In 1998, the deployable at left-back or in defensive midfield poles then to Belgium KSK Beveren. In 2006 he played for Greek club Olympiakos Piraeus, with which he could in 2007, 2008 and 2009, winning the Greek Championship, before he played in the 2010/11 season in Turkey for MKE Ankaragucu. In the 2011/12 season Michał Żewłakow moved to Poland Legia Warsaw. With Legia he became Polish Champion 2013 and two times Polish Cup winner. After the 2012/13 season, he ended his football career.

National

Żewłakow played 102 times for the national team of Poland, scoring three goals (as of 29 March 2011). He was also in the squad Poland at the 2002 World Cup and the 2006 World Cup. Likewise, he stood in the squad at the European Championships in Poland in 2008. On 10 October 2010 he made against the United States his 100th game and turned so that the unofficial record of Grzegorz Lato a, the five FIFA no longer recognizes on its 100 international matches as A- internationals. On 12 October, he then presented with his 101st international game in the match against Ecuador on a new record. His 102nd and last international match Michał Żewłakow completed on 29 March 2011 against Greece.
