Mickey Jupp

Mickey Jupp ( born March 6, 1944 in Worthing, England ) is a British musician. He is a songwriter, plays guitar and piano.

Band History

His first band The Black Diamonds he founded in 1963, then came The Orioles, who released one single. Later, he and Robin Trower The Jam. In the next attempt in 1969 he founded Legend. The band released their first album and two singles, one of them all, with the support of Procol Harum musicians. Album and singles were unsuccessful, and two years later he took another album with the same title in attack, which remained unnoticed at the time and later as Red Boot album for collectors rarity was. After a third unsuccessful album, Legend withdrew. He began a solo career in 1977 and has appeared in the following years a number of good rhythm & blues records. His songs have been covered by Gary Brooker, Elkie Brooks, Joe Cocker, Dave Edmunds, Chris Farlowe, Dr. Feelgood, Hamburg Blues Band, Kursaal Flyers, Nick Lowe and many others. With Keith Reid as manager and the advertising of Stiff Records Mickey Jupp achieved his greatest success in 1978. Mid-1980s, it became a little quieter around Mickey Jupp again, though he remained creative.
