Mickey Rose

Mickey Rose ( born May 20, 1935 in Brooklyn, New York City; † April 7, 2013 in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles ) was American screenwriter.

Career

Rose, who grew up in the Brooklyn neighborhood Bedford -Stuyvesant and Crown Heights, and Woody Allen attended Midwood High School, played the drums with Allen in a jazz band and wrote after his film studies at New York University, the screenplays for his early works What's Up, Tiger Lily? (1966 ), Woody, of Jonah (1969) and Bananas (1971). In the following years rose for Sid Caesar, Johnny Carson, the Smothers Brothers and Dean Martin worked, also, he wrote for television series such as The Odd Couple or Too Close for Comfort. In 1981 he directed the comedy What makes the dead man on the clothesline? . Rose died in April 2013 in Beverly Hills. He is the father of actor Quincy Rose, who was involved in Woody Allen's Melinda and Melinda Fim.

Rose was in 1970 and 1972 respectively nominated for the WGA Award from the Writers Guild of America.
