Midway Point, Tasmania

Midway Point is a small town and suburb of Hobart in the South East of the Australian state of Tasmania, 31 km north-east of the center of Hobart. It belongs to the Local Government Area Sorell Municipality and is situated on a small peninsula between the bay Pittwater to the west and the Orielton Lagoon in the east.

Midway Point is the center of the crossing of the Pittwater through the Tasman Highway (A3 ) over the McGees Bridge and the Sorell Causeway, hence the name. About the McGees Bridge the city with the Hobart International Airport is connected and the Sorell Causeway Sorell.

In recent years, Midway Point became popular as a bedroom community for commuters to Hobart.
