Mie Lacota

Mie Bekker Lacota ( born November 10, 1988 in Greve ) is a former Danish racing driver who was successful on the track and road.

Lacota until 2007 was active as a cyclist and has won many titles in a few years. Her biggest success was the victory at the Road World Championships for Junior Women in Salzburg in 2005. In the Track World Championships in 2007 in Palma de Mallorca, she was under the Danish national team coach Heiko Salzwedel vice-world champion in the points race. Three times she was European champion, 2005 Fiorenzuola d' Arda in the points race on the track and in 2006 in Valkenburg in the time trial and road race. Nine times she was Danish Champion in various cycling disciplines. In 2005 she won the race in the Junior Women Around the Henninger Tower before her compatriot Trine Schmidt.

2007 Mie Bekker Lacota turned pro and undertook the "Team Flexpoint ", where even Luise Keller, Mirjam Melchers and Trine Schmidt drove. She won the race Omloop Het Volk. After just one professional season Mie Bekker Lacota ended her active cycling career. She chose to work with maladjusted children.
