Miguel Gatan Purugganan

Miguel Gatan Purugganan ( born November 18, 1931 in Cabagan; † 7 July 2011) was a Filipino priest and Roman Catholic Bishop of Ilagan.

Life

Miguel Gatan Purugganan received on 3 March 1957, the ordination. Pope Paul VI. appointed him on 23 January 1971 Titular Bishop of Egnatia and appointed him as Auxiliary Bishop of Nueva Segovia. The Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines, Carmine Rocco, donated to him on 22 April of the same year the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were Juan C. Sison, Archbishop of Nueva Segovia, and Teodulfo Sabugal Domingo, Bishop of Tuguegarao.

On January 21, 1974, he was appointed Bishop of Ilagan. On 26 July 1999 John Paul II accepted his resignation.
