Mike Byrne (musician)

Michael William Byrne ( born February 6, 1990, Beaverton, Oregon) is an American drummer and since 2009 member of the band The Smashing Pumpkins.

Biography

Byrne grew up in Portland, a suburb of Beaverton, with his parents Eric and Chris Byrne and his sister Elise Byrne, the family has Irish roots. At twelve, he began drum lessons to take and later played in local bands The Mercury Tree, Bearcubbin '! and Moses, Smell the Roses and the orchestra of his school, which he completed in 2008. Later he worked for McDonald's to save money for college.

On 17 August 2009 they gave him known as the new drummer for the Smashing Pumpkins. Byrne was awarded in the category up & coming drummer from the Modern Drummer magazine, 2011.

Byrne played on the Smashing Pumpkins album Oceania in 2012 published.

Byrne called The Cure, Maserati, Maps and Atlases, Pelican and The Smashing Pumpkins themselves as musical influences.
