Miki Roqué

Miquel Roqué Farrero, also Miki Roqué, ( born July 8, 1988 in Lleida, † June 24, 2012 in Barcelona) was a Spanish football player.

Life

Career

The defender started his professional football career at UE Lleida in his native Spain. In August 2005, Miki Roqué signed a contract with Liverpool. His first major use was Roqué against Galatasaray in the Champions League when he came on in the final stages of the game on December 5, 2006.

In the summer of 2009 he moved to Real Betis in the Spanish Segunda División.

Illness and death

On March 5, 2011, a malignant tumor of the pelvis was diagnosed with. Miki Roqué succumbed to the disease on June 24, 2012 in a hospital in Barcelona. In the semi-final match against Portugal in the 2012 European Football Championship on June 27, 2012, the players of the Spanish national football team played in his honor with crape.
