Mikko Ilonen

Mikko Ilonen ( born December 18, 1979 in Lahti ) is a Finnish professional golfer on the European Tour.

After a successful amateur career - by winning the Amateur Championship at Royal Liverpool Golf Club in 2000 as the culmination of -, 2001, he was professional golfer. In his first season Ilonen stunned the golf world with a ninth place finish at the Open Championship at Royal Lytham & St Annes. After four years on the European Tour, he lost his eligibility to play and went to the second lined up Challenge Tour. He could again call the Open Championship in mind when he took the remarkable 16th place in July 2006. In February 2007, succeeded Ilonen the first tournament victory as a professional - at the Indonesia Open, an event of the European Tour and the Asian Tour. In the same year, he still won the Scandinavian Masters, the Ilonen six years later again could decide for themselves.

Ilonen is married since 2010 and is domiciled in Lahti.
