Milešov (Příbram District)

Milešov ( German Mileschau ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is situated 18 kilometers southeast of Pribram and belongs to Příbram.

Geography

Milešov is located on the right side of the Vltava River in the Central Bohemian hills at the confluence of the Milešovský and Jahodový creek. To the northwest, the district Přední Chlum is the dam of the dam Orlik. To the southeast, the hrby ( 627 m ) to the lookout tower Onen Svet rises.

Neighboring towns are Žebrákov in the north, and Zhoř Podmoky in the northeast, Vrbice in the east, in the southeast Kosobudy, Plana and Koubalova Lhota in the south, Klenovice in the southwest, and Lavičky Bohostice in the west and Přední Chlum in the northwest.

History

The first mention of Milešov dates from the year 1323.

Between 1960 and 1962 the village of Moldavia west was jammed in the Orlik dam. It sank, inter alia, the village Orlické Zlakovice. On the right bank of the dam are located on the territory of the municipality campsites Trhovky, boron, Popelíky and Salas.

Community structure

The municipality consists of the villages Milešov Klenovice ( Klenowitz ) Milešov ( Mileschau ) and Přední Chlum ( front Chlum ) and the local documents Hřebeny, Hrachovka and Lipí. At the community including the corridors of the flooded village Orlické Zlakovice ( Slakowitz ).
