Minuscule 53

Minuscule 53 ( in the Gregory- Aland numbering ), ε 444 ( von Soden ), is a Greek Minuskelhandschrift of the New Testament on 140 parchment leaves ( 15.5 x 11.5 cm). Using palaeography was dated the manuscript to the 13th or 14th century.

Description

The Code contains the complete text of the four Gospels. He was one column each with 29-33 lines written in beautiful letters. The Code contains Prolegomena, κεφαλαια, signatures, however Ammonianische sections and the Eusebische canon missing.

The Greek text of Codex represents the Byzantine text-type and the category V is assigned.

History

The manuscript written by Nicholas (?), Monk. She was examined by John Mill, and Johann Jakob Griesbach.

The Code is currently in the Bodleian Library ( Selden Supra 28) in Oxford.
