Minuscule 54

Minuscule 54 ( in the Gregory- Aland numbering ), ε 445 ( von Soden ), is a Greek Minuskelhandschrift the New Testament. The manuscript is dated by its colophon to the year 1337 or 1338.

Description

The Code contains the complete text of the four Gospels on 230 parchment leaves ( 16.3 x 12.4 cm). He has written one column each with 25-27 rows. The Code contains Prolegomena, Synaxarion, Menologion, tables of κεφαλαια, τιτλοι, lectionary markings, signatures, and Ammonianische sections but the Eusebischen canon missing.

The Greek text of Codex represents the Byzantine text-type and the category V is assigned. The manuscript is a sister or close relatives of 109, sister, mother or daughter of 171, mother or grandmother of 47, 56, 58

The Code is currently in the Bodleian Library ( Selden Supra 29) in Oxford.
