Minuscule 56

Minuscule 56 ( in the Gregory- Aland numbering ), ε 517 ( von Soden ), is a Greek Minuskelhandschrift of the New Testament on 232 parchment leaves ( 20.5 x 14.5 cm). Using palaeography was dated the manuscript to the 14th century.

Description

The Code contains the complete text of the four Gospels. It was written by 24 -column lines. The Code contains Prolegomena to Matthew and Luke, κεφαλαια, synaxaria, signatures and pictures of missing Eusebische canon.

History

Edmund Audley, Bishop of Salisbury, this manuscript were around in 1502, the Lincoln College. The Code is currently in the Lincoln College ( Gr. 18) in Oxford.
