Minuscule 68

Minuscule 68 ( in the Gregory- Aland numbering ), ε 269 ( von Soden ), is a Greek Minuskelhandschrift of the New Testament on 291 parchment leaves (21 × 14.5 cm). Using palaeography was dated the manuscript to the 11th century. The manuscript is complete.

Description

The Code contains the text of the four Gospels. He has written one column each with 23 rows and contains Epistula ad Carpianum, Eusebische tables, lists of κεφαλαια, κεφαλαια, τιτλοι, Ammonianische sections (not Eusebischer canon ), Liturgical reading pieces, Synaxarium and Menologion.

The Greek text of the codex is a representative of the Byzantine text-type. Aland placed it in Category V.

History

The explorer George Wheler brought this manuscript in 1676 from Zakynthos to England. The Code has been studied by John Mill.

The Code is currently in the Lincoln College ( Gr. 17) in Oxford.
