Minuscule 79

Minuscule 79 ( in the Gregory- Aland numbering ), ε 1209 ( von Soden ) is a Greek-Latin Minuskelhandschrift of the New Testament on 208 parchment leaves ( 16.5 × 12 cm). Using palaeography was dated the manuscript to the 15th century. The manuscript is not complete.

Description

The manuscript contains the text of the four Gospels with a big gap in Matthew 1.1 to 14.13. He has two columns (Greek right) written, each with 26-28 rows. It contains κεφαλαια ( to Matthew), (up τιτλοι ) αναγνωσεις ( according to Matthew ), Synaxarion, and images.

Text

The Greek text of this codex is a mixture of different types of text, but with the numerous Byzantine reading. Kurt Aland placed it in any category.

History

Georg Douza brought this manuscript from Constantinople Opel to Amsterdam in 1597th The manuscript was examined by Frans Comer of Bruges.

The Code is currently in the Leiden University Library (BP Gr. 74) in Leiden.
