Mirjana Lučić-Baroni

Mirjana Lucic - Baroni ( born March 9, 1982 in Dortmund, Germany ) is a Croatian tennis player. She lives in Sarasota, Florida.

Career

She started at the age of four years playing tennis. In 1997, she became a professional player.

As Lucic with the former world number one Martina Hingis in 1998 won the women's doubles at the Australian Open, she was 15 years old, the youngest player of all time, which could get a major title. The final against Lindsay Davenport and Natallja Swerawa went three sets and ended 6:4, 2:6, 6:3. After personal problems as a result of massive physical violence on the part of her father Lucic fell in 2000 in the world rankings far behind. 2004 and 2005, she contested only one match, 2006, she was not at the start.

In 2007 she celebrated her comeback initially at ITF tournaments, and later on the WTA Tour. In 2010 she won the U.S. two ITF singles titles. At the Wimbledon Championships, she joined in 2012 as a qualifier and defeated in the second round with the finalist Marion Bartoli in 2007, it then but lost in round three against Roberta Vinci.

On 15 November 2010 she married Daniele Baroni and has since been Mirjana Lucic - Baroni.
