Mirkovice

Mirko Vice ( German Mirko joke) is a municipality with 420 inhabitants ( 2006) in the Czech Republic. It is located six kilometers east of Český Krumlov and belongs to Okres Český Krumlov. The land area is 1545 ha

Geography

The place is located in 540 m asl Potok brook in the Jílecký on the northern edge of the Poluška Mountains at the confluence of Mirkovický. By Mirko vice leads the state road 157 between Český Krumlov and Besednice.

Neighboring towns are Zahar, Černice and Mojné in the north, Záhorkovice in the northeast, Žaltice, Žalčické Samoty and Paseky in the east, in the southeast Zubčice, Malčice in the south, and Zahrádka Chabičovice in the west and Svachova Lhotka in the northwest.

History

The first mention of the place Mirokowicz dates from the year 1362.
