Bujanov

Bujanov ( German Angern ) is a municipality in Okres Český Krumlov in the Czech Republic. It is located about ten kilometers southwest of Cesky Krumlov, South Bohemia, and belongs to the region.

Geography

Bujanov is located about seven kilometers southwest of Kaplice between the rivers Vltava and Malse. Neighboring towns are Omlenice in the north, Skoronice in the northeast, Rychnov nad Malší and Suchdol the southeast, Rybnik ( Zartlesdorf ) in the south, Hněvanov in the southwest and Rožmitál na Šumavě in the West. About seven kilometers south-east of the European Route 55 past the border crossing Wullowitz - Dolni Dvořiště Austria is reached.

History

Angern was first mentioned in 1347, when the Knights Paul von Harrach gave a Hube in Angern the monastery Hohenfurt for the soul of his mother.

Of economic importance was the connection of Angern to the horse-drawn railway Budweis -Linz - Gmunden. The first part of Budweis by Zartlesdorf ( Rybnik ), got a grip on the Angern, was opened on September 7, 1827.

After the abolition of patrimonial Angern formed a separate parish, which belonged to the District Commission Kaplitz. After the founding of Czechoslovakia in 1918 Angern received in 1923 the official Czech place name Bujanov.

As a result of the Munich Agreement Bujanov / Angern 1938 was annexed by the German Reich and belonged until 1945 to the district Kaplitz in the Upper Danube. After the Second World War Angern / Bujanov fell back to Czechoslovakia. The predominantly German population was expelled in 1946.

On 8 March 2003, on the E 55 in Nažidla a serious bus accident in which 20 people died occurred.
