Mocky
Mocky (actually Dominic Salole; born October 7, 1974 in Toronto ) is a Canadian pop musician based in Berlin.
Life
Mocky's father is from Yemen, his mother from England.
He was a member of the groups Puppetmastaz, Son, The Shit, The DOM, the Freeway tape and The Roustabouts. He worked with his Canadian compatriots Peaches, Feist and Gonzales and often with Jamie Lidell and Kevin Blechdom.
Mocky published in 2003 his song Sweet Music, who made it to Europe for the underground hit. In 2005 he released the song Catch a Moment in Time with Taylor Savvy, who made it to the Top 20 of the Dutch Singles charts.
In 2005 he co-produced Lidells Jamie Lidell album Multiply and assisted in the recordings as a songwriter, guitarist and on other instruments. In 2008, he supported Lidell in his album JIM. In 2007, he co-produced several pieces of Leslie Feist 's album The Reminder, played several instruments on the album and co-wrote the song with Feist So Sorry. Mocky released the solo albums in Mesopotamia (2002), Are Be ( 2004) and Navy Brown Blues ( 2006) on the label Gomma, Four Music and V2 Records.
In December 2008, Mocky announced that his new album will be released Saskamodie on 23 March 2009 on the Crammed Discs label.
