Mohammad Bagheri Motamed

Mohammad Bagheri Motamed (Persian محمد باقری معتمد; born January 24, 1986 in Tehran ) is an Iranian Taekwondo. It starts in the weight category up to 68 kilograms.

Motamed was recorded with 15 years in the national team since he trained in his hometown under coach Reza Mehmandust. In his first international title fights, the Asia Cup 2002 in Amman, Motamed won in the category up to 54 kg immediately awarded the bronze medal, two years later he won in Seongnam in the class up to 58 kg of silver. In the following years he was especially successful at the Universiade 2005 in Izmir, he won silver, 2007 in Bangkok Gold. Motamed was at the Asia Cup 2008 in Henan in the class up to 67 kg for the first time Asian champions.

Since 2009 he start in today's weight category to 68 kg. At the 2009 World Championships in Copenhagen Motamed succeeded the final breakthrough into the international top. He reached the final and was named after a win against Idulio Islas first world champion. 2010 defended his Motamed Asian champion title in Astana successful. In Guangzhou, he won the gold medal at the Asian Games as well. At the 2011 World Championships in Gyeongju he again reached the finals and won after a defeat against Servet Tazegül with silver another World Championship medal. At the International Olympic qualifying tournament in mid-2011 in Baku, he reached in the class up to 68 kg the final and qualified for the 2012 Olympic Games in London. There Motamed met until the final, where he defeated the Turks Servet Tazegül with six to five points.
