Mojca Erdmann

Mojca Erdmann ( born December 29, 1975 in Hamburg ) is a German opera, concert and lieder singer in the vocal range soprano. It occurs as a Mozart singer and interpreter of contemporary music theater works.

Life and work

Her father is a professor of composition and flutist. From the age of six she received violin lessons. In addition, she sang in the children's choir of the Hamburg State Opera. At the age of 14 years Erdmann received singing lessons with Evelyn Herlitzius. Next she studied singing at the Conservatory of Music and Dance in Cologne uA Hans Sotin. As a student Erdmann sang at the Komische Oper Berlin, also at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the music stages of Mannheim and Basel. In 2006 she made her debut at the Salzburg Festival in the title role in Mozart's Singspiel " Zaide ". A year later she sang in Salzburg the role of Zelmira in Haydn's " Armida ". In 2009 she sang at the Schwetzingen Festival Proserpine in the eponymous opera by Wolfgang Rihm and 2010 at the Salzburg Festival, the Ariadne in the world premiere of Rihm's " Dionysos ". Erdmann was a guest at the music halls of Stuttgart, Vienna, Munich, Nice, Cologne, Baden -Baden, etc. In October 2011, she made her debut at the Met in New York as Zerlina in " Don Giovanni "; shortly after, she was there to listen as Waldvogel in " Siegfried".

In addition to her stage presence Erdmann is active as a recital and concert singer. She has performed, among others at the music festivals in Black and Bad Kissingen.
