Moldovan Footballer of the Year

The title of Player of the Year is awarded in Moldova annually since 1992 by the Moldovan Football Federation. First title winner was Alexander Spiridon. So far, only Moldovans have been able to win the title. Foreign players have not been honored. The most successful player is Alexandru Epureanu, who won the title four times between 2007 and 2012. The only player to win the title three times in a row, Serghei Covalciuc. Most titles went so far to midfielders. Goalkeeper could not win the award. Acting footballer Alexandru Epureanu. But the most successful club is the Moldovan giants Zimbru Chişinău, the total of six times mustered the Footballer of the Year in their own ranks until 2002, after which no more. As the first footballer playing abroad in 1999, the former Hamburg Alexandru Curtianu was excellent. Total playing overseas players were awarded twelve times.
