Möllern was an existing until June 30, 2009 Church in the Burgenland district, in Saxony -Anhalt. She went on in the newly formed community Lanitz - Hassel- valley on July 1, 2009.

Geography

The districts of the former municipality Möllern - the Kirchdorf Niedermöllern, the parish of Upper Möllern and Kirchdorf Pomnitz - located between Apolda and Naumburg ( Saale) on the ridge of the fin.

Climate

The climate in the region is part of the Central German dry region with 536 mm of rainfall ( average of the last 25 years) and a mean annual temperature of 9.6 degrees Celsius.

History

The urban area has been inhabited since before the Christian era, to which particular attention prehistoric finds in Upper Möllern. The first written references to the districts of the former village date from the year 1144.

Until June 30, 2009 Möllern was a separate municipality, in the 351 inhabitants to 12.45 km ² lived (31 December 2007 ). The last mayor was Barbara Röwer.

Parish council

In the local elections on 13 June 2004 a group of voters could unite all eight seats in the last council to be.

Attractions

In Upper Möllern there is the built in 1856, St. Nicholas Chapel, a neo-Romanesque building with a west tower.
