Geography
The place is nestled between the district capital model and the neighboring towns Gossau, Esslingen, Egg and the Greifensee at the foot of the panhandle in a former swamp. History
The place is first documented in the year 741 as shown Alemannic Herrschaftshof settlement " Villa Altdorf ". When he was taken 744 from St. Gallen monastery he was given the name " Altdorf monarchorum " ( Monk Altdorf ).
In the hamlet castle, the former castle Liebenberg was on fire. It was the seat of the Ministerialen of Liebenberg in the early 13th century. Attractions
