Monufia Governorate

Al- Minufiyya (Arabic محافظة المنوفية Muhafazat al - Minufiyya, DMG Muhafazat al - Minūfiyya, also Monufia or Menufeya ) is a governorate in Egypt with 3,555,471 inhabitants and is situated in the western Nile Delta.

It is bordered to the north by the province al - Gharbiyya, on the east by the province al - Qalyubiyya, to the south by the Government al - Giza and to the west by the province al - Buhaira. The administrative center is Schibin al - Hardly. There is also the main campus of the University Minufiya.

With Anwar Sadat (1918-1981) and Muhammad Husni Mubarak (born 1928) were born two former presidents of Egypt in al - Minufiyya.
