Moonee Ponds, Victoria

Moonee Ponds is a suburb of the Australian city of Melbourne and is located north of the city center ( Central Business District ) and has about 12,500 inhabitants. The district is part of the Local Government Area Moonee Valley City and there is also the seat of administration ( Council).

The climate there is often a lot better than in the rest of Melbourne. In Moonee Ponds is best used for locomotion, the tram ( Metlink ).

History

In Moonee Ponds is a relatively small but nice shopping street with numerous cafes and shops in Puckle Street.

The district is also the Queens park with a small lake with water features, which is a popular meeting place for residents.

Monee Ponds is located between the districts of Essendon and Ascot Vale. The western border is the Maribyrnong River, to the east lies the Monee Ponds Creek, where a popular about 25 km long bicycle route to the Docklands leads to the airport.
