More Experience

More Experience is a Jimi Hendrix - Cover band from Switzerland, who has devoted a trio of music of the late guitarist Jimi Hendrix in 1970 and stands out by improvisations during live performances. The band was so far over 700 concerts and toured with, inter alia, the deceased members of the Jimi Hendrix Experience, Noel Redding and Buddy Miles.

Establishment and tours

The band was founded by guitarist and singer Marcel Aeby as a classic power trio in September 1987. In February 1988, succeeded in Basel, the first official appearance. The group went on tour through Spain and played in 1990 at the one-week Hendrix Memorial Festival in Paris Olympia, among others, along with Randy California and Noel Redding. In December 1990, the LP YES WE ARE, a live recording was released from a Basel club.

1991 occurred Experience More on "Electric Ladyland " festival in Paris, together with the American singer Carol Miles on. In April 1992 the band played at the Uni- Festival in Barcelona before 12,000 spectators in the wake of the now third tour through Spain. This was followed in the summer of the same year an appearance in Ravenna ( Italy) along with Randy Hansen and Uli Jon Roth.

In April 1994, the trio had called an appearance at the legendary La Locomotive in Paris before 1,100 spectators and was subsequently by the French music magazine Rock & Folk as favorite Hendrix cover band. At a concert in Ternate (Italy ), the trio was reinforced by Noel Redding. In November 1994, 14 sold-out concerts were given in Spain within 17 days.

At the beginning of 1995 More Experience played to mark the 25th year of death of Jimi Hendrix at various concerts in Northern Germany and in Switzerland. One more series of concerts in France, joined the 24-hour race at Le Mans, where Nine Below Zero and Calvin Russell occurred. In addition, the band performed three concerts with Alvin Lee. In late autumn 1995, the group toured for 30 days with Noel Redding through France and Italy (including live appearance on the channel France 3). At a festival with over 30 bands in January 1996 in Epinal ( France) More Experience and Calvin Russell were the headliners, with the appearance of three television stations was recorded.

After the trio to the unveiling of a commemorative plaque Hendrix of Hendrix's girlfriend Kathy Etchingham penultimate was invited to London, they played the 27th anniversary of Hendrix in Colombes near Paris. In 1997, the group went with Buddy Miles on 20 concerts tour through Italy.

After Germany and Italy a Tour 1999, the band appeared in the Fehmarn Jimi Hendrix Revival Festival, based on the Love- and- Peace - Festival of 1970.
