Mörschwil

Mörschwil is a municipality in the canton of St. Gallen in Switzerland.

Geography

The community is characterized by a large number of loosely interconnected villages - with a correspondingly small village. Originally the District Rorschach belonging municipality is now in the constituency Rorschach. The municipality joins directly on the eastern end of the city of St. Gallen and spreads out towards Lake Constance. The area is bounded on both sides by the two river Goldach and Steinach. Neighboring municipalities are mountain, Steinach, Tübach, Goldach, under harrows, St. Gallen and Witten Bach.

History

The 811 Maurini vilare introduction to a village located northeast of the city of St. Gallen and is considered a suburb of. Middle of the 19th century were naturalized under the Act to combat homelessness Jenische families.

The municipal area of Mörschwil the motorway junction is Meggenhus ( A1 / A1.1) and the Cholegruebe previously used for coal mining. The center, as well as some quarters are minutes by bus number 11 in the VBSG 15. Clock (weekdays) opened up (on Sundays and evenings from 19.30 with the Postbus 210). Mörschwil has its own station on the railway Rorschach -St. Gallen.

Lower School and Middle School

Mörschwil has two school-houses, the Gallus school house for the 1st to 3rd class and the Otmarschulhaus for 4th to 6th grade.

Advanced level

In the community Mörschwil there is no secondary school for a high school, the Lower Waid, a private high school ( around 110 students ) with federal matura recognition. From 1924 to 2007, the school was run by the Order of the Fathers of La Salette. Today, most teachers are lay people ( non- religious ). In August 2007, the school was transferred to a civilian ownership. The small school is considered very cosmopolitan and is known for good leadership by committed teachers. The high school and lower secondary school is open to boys and girls of all denominations; recording conditions are the same as those of the public schools of the canton of St. Gallen.
