Mother's Finest
Mother's Finest is an American funk-rock -soul crossover band that was formed in 1970 by singer - couple Joyce "Baby Jean " Kennedy and Glen "Doc" Murdock.
Biography
Your first published in August 1976 Single Fire could be put in the United States at number 93 of the pop singles chart, an offshoot of the official Billboard Hot 100.
In 1976 they released their debut album Mother's Finest on Epic / CBS, which is a rare collector's item today. It contained the ironical song Nigizz Can not Sing Rock ' n ' Roll a controversial song, which caused quite a stir. The second album Another Mother Further played with the association with the word motherfucker. The album became the springboard for the careers of multicultural rock band.
Since their appearance in the second ARD Rockpalast night of 1978 ( Euro Vision mission ) in Essen Grugahalle ( which was re-released along with a Rockpalast concert from 2003 on DVD ) are known to a wider audience in Europe and have achieved cult status. End of the 1970s they produced some soul -oriented and early 1980s two hard rock albums. For the band confusion caused by the fact that guitarist "Moses Mo" was specified on the LP One Mother to Another with his real name Gary Moore. This enticed many (and most reviewers ) to the incorrect assumption of the same name Irish guitarist had joined the band. Mother's Finest was dissolved in 1983, "B. B. Queen " rejoined Molly Hatchet. "Baby Jean " was launched in connection with her real name is Joyce Kennedy a solo career, and brought out two LPs ( Lookin ' for Trouble and Wanna Play Your Game).
"Baby Jean " Kennedy, "Doc" Murdock, "Moses Mo" and " Wyzard " found in 1989 and brought back together with the new drummer Dion Derek LP Looks Could Kill, released. In the 1990s, they were back with the crossover album Black Radio Will not Play This Record and with new guitarist John Hayes. The last studio production Meta - Physical Funk'n of 2003 returnees " Moses Mo" and the new drummer Kerry Denton is oriented more toward hip-hop and electronic beats.
Their biggest hits are Baby Love, Piece of the Rock and Mickey's Monkey, a cover version of the 1963 top 10 hits of the Miracles.
In the summer of 2011 the band played as the opening act of Santana in Wiesen / Austria.
