Moustoir-Remungol

Moustoir Remungol ( Breton: Moustoer - Remengol ) is a commune with 649 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Morbihan in the Brittany region. It belongs to the Local Government Association, Pays de Locminé.

Geography

Moustoir Remungol located in the southern part of central Brittany and part of the Pays de Pontivy.

Neighboring municipalities are Noyal- Pontivy in the north, Naizin in the east, Remungol in the south, Pluméliau in the west and Saint- Thuriau in the northwest.

Through the eastern part of the municipality of the regional importance of D767 leads to Guingamp Vannes. The nearest links to the national road connecting N 24 is about ten kilometers south of the town.

The major bodies of water are the streams Coëthuan and Kergouët that form part of the municipal border with Pluméliau. There are also some small ponds. Only small areas of the municipal area is wooded.

Demographics

History

The name means Moustoir monastery. About this monastery, however, there are no written documents. The village belonged from 1793 to 1801 for Canton Pluméliau. Since then, she is assigned to the Canton Locminé. The municipality belongs to the historic region of Brittany Bro - Gwened (French Vannetais ) and within this region to region Bro Baod (French Pays de Baud) and shares his story.
