Moving (1988 film)

Moving - backward into chaos ( Original: Moving ) is an American comedy film from 1988 directed by Alan Metter.

Action

Arlo Pear, a transportation engineer and family man who loses his job in New Jersey, but finds a promising new job in Boise ( Idaho). Therefore, he and his loving wife Monica it must organize on the rebellious daughter Casey, the two twin sons Marshall and Randy as well as the dog's move to the new workplace. This gives rise to many crazy incidents with malicious neighbors, an insane moving helpers, former convicts as removal ( including King Kong Bundy ) and other chaotic plot elements, but triumphed over the pear at the end.

Production

About the meeting of the screenplay alleged author Breckman, Pryor did it threatens him with a Derringer to get a scene deleted from the action in which an old lady done in a backyard her (big ) business.

Reviews

Janet Maslin wrote in The New York Times, Pryor would not quite fit into the role of loyal caring and peaceful basically family father à la Bill Cosby. This bizarre cast bring the film but its own kind of comedy. Moving is not an extraordinary film, but probably would particularly entertain the crowd, who have had similar experiences with parades itself.

Hal Hinson wondered in The Washington Post also about the decision to occupy Pryor as brave bore. The film was indeed better than others, contemporary Pryor movies, but I'm not about mediocrity beyond. Nevertheless, some good jokes were successful. Hinson also praised the director in charge of Metter visual atmosphere of the film.

The lexicon of international film wrote that the film was " a decidedly listless comedy, slapstick, stereotype variations and pure idiocy in the American middle class milieu" ansi noble.
