Mpongmpong (also Bombo, Mbombo, Mpompo, Mpopo and pongpong ) is a Bantu language and is spoken by about 45,000 people in Cameroon ( 1991 Census ).

It is distributed in the districts of Kadey and Boumba -et- Ngoko in the province Est.

Classification

Mpongmpong is a Northwest Bantu language and belongs to Makaa - Njem group that is classified as Guthrie Zone A80.

She has the dialects Mbobyeng (also Pobyeng ) Menzime (also Medzime, Mezime and Mendzime ) Bageto (also Baagato and Bangantu ) Kunabembe (also Konabembe, Nkumabem, Kunabeeb and Konabem ) and Mpomam (also Boman and Mboman )
