History
The ship was placed on the Italian shipyard Fincantieri CNI Shipyard in Ancona in July 2008 to Kiel, delivered in 2009 and is registered under number 8001647 registered in Nassau in the Bahamas.
Equipment
The ship has a passenger capacity of 540 guests with 378 man crew. Guests are accommodated exclusively in luxury suites, of which 95 percent have a balcony. The ship has twelve decks, eight passenger decks.
Specifications
The ship has been surveyed with 36 009 GT. It is 195.8 meters long and 26.5 meters wide ( 29.5 meters above the bridge wings ). The maximum draft is 6.4 meters, the height above the water line is 48.4 meters.
The ship has a diesel-electric drive. Two fixed five-blade propeller ( diameter each 4.6 meters ) are each driven by an electric motor of the type VEM DTMSZ ( VEM group) with 8,500 kW. The drive power is thus 17,000 kW, which corresponds to about 23,200 hp. The electrical energy for propulsion and the operation of the ship deliver four Wärtsilä 9L38 diesel engines type with nine in-line cylinders and a capacity of 6,520 kW, ie a total of 26 080 kW. Two bow thrusters by Rolls- Royce, each with 1,000 kW ( 1,360 hp) assist maneuvering in and casting off or turning maneuvers. The ship has a maximum speed of 21.5 knots. Two Mitsubishi Finstabilisatoren serve as extendable stabilizers ship in rough seas.
