Munich-Giesing–Kreuzstraße railway

The railway line Munich -Giesing Cross Road is a single-track, continuous electrified railway in the south of Munich. It was opened in 1902-1912 and 1972/73 integrated in the Munich S-Bahn network. Route

The route branches off to the south of Ständlerstraße, from between the train station Munich -Giesing and the breakpoint Fasanengarten, of the Munich East Deisenhofen. After crossing the Munich ring road and the national highway 471 reaches distance Hohenbrunn and thus already has a strong rural character area. The following stations and stops are, with the exception of height Church Siegertsbrunn in towns with only some hundreds of inhabitants. In particular, the community Aying is accessed through four break points or stations in small towns, especially Dürrnhaar Aying, Peiß and Großhelfendorf. History

The originally circulating only between Munich -Giesing and Aying local railway was one of the last railroad radial lines between the capital and residence city of Munich and its surroundings. Since 1892, the municipalities Peiß, Help village, Egmating, Siegertsbrunn, Hohenbrunn, height churches, Brunnthal and Oberframmern tried to build a railway line. For now, however, the railway line from Munich East Deisenhofen was given preference. South of Aying / Peiß the route should lead after the first planning on helping the village to Grub. There would have been connecting to the Mangfalltalbahn. Traffic
