Murrumbidgee Shire

Murrumbidgee is centrally located in the south of the state south of the Murrumbidgee River about 400 km west of the Australian capital Canberra and 420 km north of Melbourne. The area includes 12 districts and towns: Clifford Downs, Coleambally, Cooinbil, Dirrung, Ercildoune, Gum Creek, Toganmain, Tubbo, Uri East, and Waddi and parts of Darlington Point and Four Corners. The seat of the Shire Council is located in Darlington Point in the northeast of the LGA, where about 1,000 inhabitants.

Management

The Murrumbidgee Shire Council has eight members who are elected by the residents of the two wards (four each from East and West Ward). These two districts are set independently of the villages. From the circle of Councillor also the Mayor ( Mayor ) of the Council recruited.
