Mustmätta

Mustmätta is a village (Estonian küla ) in the rural community Lüganuse ( Luganuse vald ). It is located in Ida -Viru county (East Wierland ) in northeastern Estonia.

Description and History

The village has 26 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2012).

In Mustmätta 1940 artifacts were uncovered from the Early Iron Age.

The most famous son of the town is the Estonian violinist Robert Peenemaa ( 1903-49 ), who was born in Mustmätta. From 1941 until his untimely death in 1949 he lived in his home village.
