My Bride is a Mermaid

Seto no Hanayome (Japanese瀬戸 の 花嫁, GV "The Bride of Seto Inland Sea, The Bride Seto ") is a written by Tahiko Kimura and drawn manga series. She tells in a humorous way the story of the student Nagasumi that threatens to drown during the summer holiday and is rescued by the mermaid Sun. However, major events come after it turns out that Sun is the daughter of Yakuza leader Gōzaburō. Since Sun's father Nasagumi would kill most like immediately, she is forced to marry Nagasumi, so that their original bailout was not in vain.

Seto no Hanayome was adapted both as an anime television series of the same name, as well as a subsequent OVA release. Both anime productions were made in a collaboration between the animation studio Gonzo and AIC and directed by Seiji Kishi.

Action

As an introduction to the plot is a summer outing of the protagonist Nagasumi Michishio and his parents on a bay of the Seto Inland Sea where his grandmother lives. While Nagasumi can not really happy about the holidays, he is trying to expel the water time. However, since he can not swim well and gets a cramp, he threatens to drown unnoticed. Become almost unconscious he is saved by mermaid Sun Seto and some time later found by the searching after him father. However, his father and the rest of the family to buy him the story of the mermaid not expire. The changes abruptly as the Sun in the evening suddenly stands on the doorstep of the family and therefore begs Nagasumi to marry. Formation and Publications

The Tahiko written by Kimura and drawn manga series Seto no Hanayome was published by Square Enix in the magazine Gangan Wing Gekkan in the issues from September 2002 to May 2009. After about a year break, the final chapter in the magazine Gangan Joker Gekkan the same publisher were printed in editions from June to December 2010. The whole plot was combined into 16 tankōbon editions. The first 14 issues were printed by the label Gangan Wing comics, the last two at Gangan Comics imprint Joker.

Adaptations

Anime

Based on the manga of the same anime television series Seto no Hanayome was developed in a co-production of the animation studio Gonzo and AIC and directed by Seiji Kishi. The first broadcast of 26 episodes full series began on the night of April 2, 2007 (and thus on the previous TV day ) on the channel TV Tokyo and ended on October 1, 2007. Parallel, but with a delay of one day to one week incident as well as the transmitter TV Aichi, TV Osaka, TV Setouchi the series out. On AT -X Original Air Date started on 10 May 2007. Here, however, the 17th episode was not shown because there were concerns that some of the characters used in the episode the other originals, partly parodierter works, to sow similar.

Outside of Japan, the series was licensed by Funimation (at time of licensing or Funimation Entertainment ) for the English-speaking world. In Australia and New Zealand Madman Entertainment was responsible for the publication. Likewise, the series was broadcast on the Spanish channel TV3 and offered by Arait Multimedia on DVD. Likewise, the series was released in Tagalog in the Philippines and in Chinese in Taiwan.

Music

The leader was underlaid with a short version of the title Romantic summer. It was developed by Sun & Lunar, or their spokespersons Haruko Momoi and Sakura Nogawa interpreted. Written and composed by Halko Momoi was the title. As a single of the same Romantic summer was published on 25 April 2007 and peaked in the Japanese Oricon Charts from the 32th place. The single also was the title Namida Ichirin (涙 一轮) and both were included as usual again in an instrumental version.

A peculiarity of the leader was that he slightly changed from episode to episode. So dancing behind Sun in each case the figures, which were also in the current episode of major importance.

The series used two different end credits. The former (episodes 1-13 and 26) was underlaid entitled Asu e no Hikari (明日 へ の 光), which was sung by Asuka Hinoi. Written, composed and arranged the piece was by Yugo Sasakura. The eponymous single Asu e no Hikari appeared on 2 May 2007 and included on the B - side also the title VOICES and Kimi ga ita basho. All three pieces of an instrumental version was also included. In the charts of the Oricon single reached the 56th place.

As the opening credits, so also changed the actually existing only from a still image first guy. He showed the Seto family at Community food, with the space from episode to episode with another, appearing in the episode for the first time, figures filled.
