Myszków

Myszków is a town in Silesia in Poland. The industrial city is located on both sides of the Warta River, about 30 km southeast of Czestochowa located in the northwest of the Lesser Poland region.

History

In the barren, interspersed with wetlands Warthetal, the border between Lesser Poland and the Kingdom of Poland and the since the 14th century Bohemia belonging Silesia. These adverse conditions prevented a long lasting settlement. The name of the village Myszków is proven documented only since 1629, but was previously known as Myszków iron hammer Żarki whose first use falls in the year 1442. Too great importance of this place but did not and was always in the shadow of nearby towns Mrzygłód and Ciszówka that have already been 1412 or 1437 first mentioned, looks to a thriving market places. In particular, from the neighboring village Ciszówka Myszków was time dependent. The name Myszków, which eventually prevailed in the 17th century, probably goes back to the name myszek or to the noble family Myszkowski, who possessed in the area over extended property. The area around Myszków shared the lot of the Cracow Province, which it was associated, and became Prussian in 1795 as part Neuschlesiens. 1807 was the newly created Duchy of Warsaw attached, and then in 1815 to be part of Congress Poland.

Only in the 19th century saw the region as a result of industrialization and its proximity to the Upper Silesian industrial area an economic boost. In particular, the construction of the Warsaw - Vienna railway line via Katowice, found connection to the Myszków, linking the village with the thriving industrial areas. According to findings of lignite defunct coal mines were created in the present area five today. In addition, followed by the metal factory Michałów, the steelworks Mystal and a factory that manufactured enamelware. But even companies papermaking and the cotton industry settled in the city. It was only in 1950 Myszków became a town.

Today the city has mainly to deal with the structural change, which many jobs in different industries would disappear. Nevertheless, a rebound in mining is expected, since in Myszków recent occurrences of molybdenum, tungsten, silver and copper were discovered.

In the city of Myszków eight elementary schools, five middle schools and a high school are ( Liceum Ogólnokształcące in. Mjr Henryka Sucharskiego ) and two vocational schools.
