The National Route 4 (short- N4 ) is a national road in South Africa. It is a part of the Trans - Kalahari Highway from Walvis Bay ( Namibia) to Maputo ( Mozambique), which connects across the coasts of the Atlantic and the Indian Ocean through southern Africa. Since the completion of the central portion in Botswana the standard of the entire route is considered very high.

Route

The South African part of the trunk road connects the Botswana border at Lobatse, from the border crossing at Pioneer Gate / Skilpadshek with the cities of Rustenburg, Pretoria, Emalahleni, Machadodorp, Mbombela and the border crossing at Komatipoort / Ressano Garcia.
