Na Yoon-sun

Youn Sun Nah ( born August 28, 1969 in Seoul, South Korea) is a South Korean jazz singer and songwriter.

Life and work

Youn Sun Nah grew up as the daughter of a conductor and a classical singer. At age 23, she made her debut as a singer at a concert with the Korean Symphony. This was followed at national level numerous appearances in Korean musicals, for which she received several awards. Among other things, she starred in the Korean version of the musical with line 1.

So she decided in 1995 to go to Paris to study at CIM, one of Europe's oldest jazz schools, jazz and French chanson. At the closing ceremony of the Winter Olympics in Sochi in 2014, she sang an idiosyncratic version of the Korean folk song Arirang.

Awards

In 2010 she was awarded for the fourth time with the Korean Music Award in the category "Jazz and Crossover Album of the Year ". In Germany Youn Sun Nah was awarded "international best singer " among others, the Echo Jazz 2011 as. At the " BMW Welt Jazz Award" in 2010, she won the audience award.
