Nadine Zumkehr

Nadine Zumkehr (born 5 February 1985 in Frutigen, Switzerland ) is a Swiss beach volleyball player.

Career

Nadine Zumkehr first appeared in 2005 in an international phenomenon. With her former partner Annik Skrivan but she could classify in the top ten on the world tour ever. The 2008 season played Zumkehr together with Muriel Grässli. As of 2009, formed Zumkehr together with Simone Kuhn a Swiss national team. In their first year together, they have already achieved some top ten results on the World Tour. In addition Kuhn / Zumkehr Swiss champions were and took the bronze medal at the European Championships. With the tournament victory on the penultimate season event of the FIVB World Tour in Sanya, the duo Kuhn / Zumkehr reached another career highlight, and wrote thus also Swiss sports history because in the 18-year history of the World Tour never stood a Swiss beach volleyball women's team at the top on the podium.

2012 won Kuhn / Zumkehr in the final of the Grand Slam in Rome against Goller / Ludwig and 21:12 and 21:18 and so enrolled Swiss beach volleyball history. At the Olympic Games in London in 2012 they parted with 0-2 against Ross / Kessy (USA) in the second round, and so occupied the ninth place.

Following the resignation of Simone Kuhn Nadine Zumkehr plays from 2013 Joana Heidrich. At the 2013 World Championships in Stare Jabłonki Zumkehr / Heidrich reached the main round, where they did against the Brazilians Lili / Seixas.

Private

Nadine Zumkehr has completed the training to become a primary teacher. She is a cousin of the Skicrossers Mike Schmid.
