The Nagai Stadium (Japanese大阪 市长 居 陆上 竞技场, Osaka -shi Nagai rikujō kyōgijō, German " Nagai athletics stadium in the city of Osaka " ) is a Japanese football stadium with track and field facility in Nagai Park of the district Higashisumiyoshi of Osaka.

History

It was built in 1964 and extensively renovated in 1996 and expanded. Currently, it offers 50,000 spectators. Inside the stadium, the Japanese football club Cerezo Osaka plays its home games out in the J. League. During the FIFA World Cup 2002, two group matches and one quarter final were played in the arena. The stadium was the venue for the 2007 11th IAAF World Championships in August / September.
