Nancy Lieberman

Nancy Elizabeth Lieberman (* July 1, 1958 in Brooklyn ) is an American basketball coach and former player. In 2009 she was head coach of the Colorado 14ers, who were replaced the following year by the Texas Legends of the NBA Development League. Lieberman is the first head coach in a men's professional league in basketball. She is also active in television as a basketball expert and analyst. Lieberman is one of the most famous personalities in women's basketball.

At the age of 18 she became the youngest medalist in basketball in the history of the Olympics: With the U.S. team in 1976, she won the silver medal. In 1986, she played for the Springfield Fame of the United States Basketball League, with which she was the first player in a professional basketball league of gentlemen. 1997 Lieberman was active for Phoenix Mercury in the WNBA, and later coached the team from Detroit Shock. They also served some time as a fitness trainer Martina Navratilova the tennis player.

In 2000, she was inducted into the Nassau County Sports Hall of Fame. She is also a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame.
