Nataliya Tobias

Natalija Tobias (Ukrainian Наталія Тобіас, English transcription Nataliya Tobias, born Сидоренко Sydorenko, . Born November 22, 1980 in Serov, Russian SFSR ) is a Ukrainian middle distance runner who starts mainly on the 1500 meter course, but also as an obstacle runner operated.

In 2003, she won gold at the Universiade, and in 2004 she finished fifth at the World Indoor Championships in Budapest. At the Olympic Games in Athens, she came into the semi-finals.

In 2006, she finished in seventh place at the European Championships in Gothenburg. In the subsequent World Championships in Athletics, she was Eleventh and also started over 3000 m steeplechase, failed there but in the flow.

She achieved her biggest success at the Olympic Games in Beijing. About 1500 m she won with her personal record of 4:01,78 minutes the bronze medal behind Nancy Jebet Langat (KEN ) and her compatriot Iryna Lischtschynska.

Shortly before the 2012 Olympics Tobias was banned for two years, as had been detected in their urine sample from the World Athletics Championships in 2011 with a follow-up synthetic testosterone and they had waived the opening of the B sample.
