Nathan Adrian

Nathan Adrian ( born December 7, 1988 in Bremerton ) is an American freestyle swimmer. In 2012, he won an Olympic gold medal over 100 m freestyle.


In the Short Course World Championships 2008 in Manchester Adrian won the gold medal in the 100 m freestyle in front of the Italian Filippo Magnini. With the 4 × 100 m freestyle relay, with which he could set a new world record, he also won a gold medal. He also took the 4 × 100 m medley relay silver medal behind the Russians.

At the Olympic Trials in 2008 he was able to qualify for any individual decision for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. About the 100 m freestyle, he finished fourth on the 50 m freestyle in sixth. However, with the fourth place, he qualified for the 4 × 100 m freestyle relay.
