Nathan McIver

Nathan McIver (born 6 January 1985 in Summerside, Prince Edward Iceland ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is since July 2012 at the New York Islanders in the National Hockey League contract.

Career

Nathan McIver began his career with the Toronto St. Michael's Majors, who had previously 2002'ausgewählt him in the second round of the OHL Priority Selection Draft. McIver gathered in Toronto for three years experience in hockey as a regular force. In his third and last season in Toronto he scored 26 scorer points, including four goals, so that he was appointed to the OHL Third All-Star Team.

During the NHL Entry Draft 2003 McIver was elected as a total 254 players from the Vancouver Canucks. He first came but only in the Canucks farm team, the Manitoba Moose, for use where he completed his first season in professional hockey in the American Hockey League. Due to an injury in professional team of Canucks McIver was in the 2006/07 season his debut in the National Hockey League. In the following season, there was always a shortage in Vancouver's defense, so that McIver was allowed to contest a total of 17 games in the NHL team.

In the summer of 2008 McIver played in three preseason games for the Canucks before he was taken thesmall Waiverliste of the Anaheim Ducks under contract. In the 2008 /09 season he was able to celebrate his first assist for the Ducks, after he had previously been no points in 18 games for Vancouver. Already on 4 February 2009 McIver returned in exchange for Mike Brown to the Canucks back. This put him up to the end of the season 2009/10 in the farm team for the Manitoba Moose. In July 2010, he signed as a free agent contract with the Boston Bruins and McIver came in the wake of their farm team, the Providence Bruins, regularly used.
